F3000 TEST FOR MICHAEL
AT FAMOUS SPA CIRCUIT

Top Irish International racing driver Michael Keohane will drive an F3000 car tomorrow (Wednesday, 24th June) at the famous Spa-Francorchamp circuit in Belgium when the 23-year-old tests for leading Formula 3000 outfit Team Astromega.

The test with the race winning Belgian team was offered to the talented Irishman on the back of his withdrawal from the British F3 Championship last week and with F3000 one of the options being looked at by the county Cork driver he is delighted with the opportunity to sample one of the Lola based cars.

A double race winner in British F3 the test, if successful, could lead to the Ibstock Brick backed racer doing selected rounds of the FIA International F3000 Championship. One of the world's premier junior series the championship figures as a strong feeder category for Formula 1 and is run in Europe alongside F1 with one flyaway race in Brazil.

Funded by the West Cork Racing Business Expansion Scheme, Michael is also looking at the Dallara Nissan World Series, however he may opt to stop racing this season and focus his attention on preparations for next year.
